Kids who read become teenagers who read, and then adults. And throughout this journey, there is no telling what their minds will mold into. If a kid finds a used book in a box and likes the cover or is told it’s good, then they are likely to take it home and read it. Then maybe that book becomes the instant favorite or leads to another that does. Or piques an interest, even the smallest one, in a subject: Science, history, detective stories, ANYTHING! This is where it begins. Suddenly there’s learning! Suddenly there’s knowledge! How incredible is that?!

  • Why Books?

My “inspiration” for this was simple – free books for kids. But as I started planning this out, I realized that there was no way I could refuse this program to anyone. So, I won’t. Anyone who wanders past my table is perfectly welcome to stop, look, and take a book. (Or two. Or three.) If you have a book you’d like to share, I’ll take it.

  • Who's it for?

If you love to read, or just like to read, or just like to read one subject or genre, or don’t know if you like to read, just come by and look. Take what you like and share what you can. If you’re a teacher, come see what I have. Stock your classrooms with books. If you know a shut-in, or someone in the hospital, come grab books for them.

  • How's it work?

All books are donated, there is no charge, no catch, and no limit. We will announce the drives regularly, and you just come grab them. If you have books to donate, you can contact us to collect or bring them to the drive in person. And hey, we love BANNED BOOKS! Our only rule is NO HATE.
